The State Level Police Recruitment Board has released a new job vacancy. The job is for 269 posts of Constable (Grade III) positions in the Directorate of Civil Defense and Home Guards. Pay scale, eligibility, and last dates of this post can be read in this article:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates must be Indian Citizens and permanent residents of Assam. Your name must be registered in the local employment office in Assam. Must be able to speak Assamese or any other state language fluently. Must be 18 to 40 years of age as of 01-01-2024.


Age Relaxations

The upper age limit will be relaxed for:

  • 5 years in respect of Candidates belonging to ST (P), SC, and ST (H).
  • 3 years in respect of Candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC.
  • 2 years additionally in respect of Candidates belonging to Ex-Servicemen category.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

The candidate must have passed an H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination. Other qualifications are mandatory to have a Home Guard Certificate or Minimum NCC ‘A’ Certificate. If not, you are not eligible for this vacancy.


SELECTION PROCEDURE

The documents submitted by the candidate will be checked. A set of photocopies of all those documents, along with the originals, will be verified. After that, you will take the PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test).


PST (Physical Standard Test)

The candidate will undergo a physical examination in a medical checkup. They will also undergo the PST standard test. Measurements of height, weight, and chest will be taken. Chest measurements are for males only. There are no marks in this test.


PET (Physical Efficiency Test)

Physical efficiency tests will be conducted in the race and long jump. To qualify, male candidates must complete a 3200-meter run in under 14 minutes. They must also long jump at least 335 cm in three attempts.


To qualify, female candidates must complete a 1600-meter race in less than 8 minutes. They will also have to achieve a long jump of at least 244 cm in three attempts. The physical efficiency test will be of 40 marks.


WRITTEN TEST

There will be a written test of a total of 50 marks in which there are no negative marks. The subjects to be covered will be as follows:-

  • Elementary Arithmetic
  • General English
  • Logical reasoning/Mental ability
  • Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy
  • General Awareness/General Knowledge and current affairs

NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC) - Maximum Marks – 5

  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate - 5 marks
  • NCC ‘B’ Certificate - 3 marks


ORAL / VIVA VOCE:- Maximum 5 marks

TOTAL - 100 MARKS


HOW TO APPLY

Applications must be submitted online through the SLPRB website- www.slprbassam.in.

  1. Register on the online portal using a valid mobile number.
  2. After that, you will receive a Recruitment ID. You can log in by entering your Recruitment ID or mobile number and Date of Birth.
  3. After login, you will see the Ongoing Application Details and Apply option. You will be able to apply by clicking the Apply button.

Candidates must upload scanned copies of the following documents:

  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Signature

Documents:

  • Certificate of proof of age
  • Pass Certificate of HSLC or equivalent examination.
  • Mark Sheet of HSLC or equivalent examination.
  • Home Guard Training Certificate or NCC 'A' Certificate.
  • In the case of an Ex-serviceman, he/she must upload: - a) a Copy of the Discharged Book & b) a Copy of the Identity Card of the Ex-Serviceman.
  • Employment Exchange Registration Card.
  • Certificate of Caste from a Competent Authority in Assam. NO CASTE CERTIFICATE.
  • NCC 'B' or 'C' certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
